RSPCA and Aussie Pooch Mobile helping flood affected animals
Monday, February 14th, 2011In the devastation of the Queensland floods, with lives lost and futures ruined, it’s easy to overlook the other victims of this tragedy.
Animals, especially pets.
Many people were unable to rescue their pets and many of those that did survive have had to be re-housed in Animal Welfare Shelters, with friends and even strangers kind enough to offer.
To help with this dire situation Aussie Pooch Mobile is now an official collection agency for the RSPCA.
Donations of cash can be made to any Aussie Pooch Mobile Operator.
Aussie Pooch Mobile will also donate 10c to the RSPCA from every dog washed until February 28. And for every new person to ‘like’ Aussie Pooch Mobile on Facebook, they will donate another 10c until February 28 - www.facebook.com/aussiepoochmobile.
Please see www.aussiepm.com.au for other fundraising activities Aussie Pooch Mobile is also involved in.
“Thousands of animals need to be re-housed so donations are essential,” says Aussie Pooch Mobile founder, Chris Taylor.
“Also, many of the animals will need after care due to the affect that wet and muddy conditions can have on animals. Apart from increased risk of fleas, mosquito bites, ticks, worms, skin infections, snake bites and heartworm, like us animals are also at risk of getting seriously ill, or even dying, from drinking contaminated water.”
“So please spare a thought for these other flood victims.”
