Camping Canines Raise Money for Charity
Thursday, September 22nd, 201110-year-old Jazmin Bromley from Forest Lake suffers from a medical condition that means she can only walk independently over short distances, so she spends the majority of her life in a wheelchair.
Her spine is fused so she can’t bend to pick up anything she drops. These are only a couple of the issues that Jazmin deals with on a daily basis.
But there is a way to make Jazmin’s life easier – an assistance dog.
To have a fully trained assistance dog would mean that Jazmin wouldn’t have to worry if she needed an item as the dog could pick it up and take it to her. The dog would also go to Jazmin and drop down beside her helping Jazmin to stabilize her balance whilst she gets back to her feet and into her chair.
The dog will also be taught tasks to assist Jazmin in getting dressed.
A fully trained assistance dog costs $20,000.00. Aussie Pooch Mobile, Pet Crazy, Craig A Murray Dog Training and Variety The Children’s Charity have combined forces to work on an appeal for Jazmin.
